Camcorders and video recorders
MiniDV transfer problems, hard-drive camcorders, internal-flash camcorders, AVCHD/MP4/MOV devices, corrupted final clips, damaged ports, failed power boards, broken card slots, and video files that did not finalize cleanly.
Voice and audio recorders
Olympus, Sony, Zoom, Tascam, meeting recorders, interview recorders, dictation devices, field recorders, damaged USB ports, unreadable internal memory, deleted recordings, and interrupted audio capture.
Dash cams, drones, and action cameras
Loop recording, crash clips, drone flights, GoPro/action footage, microSD damage, corrupted MP4/MOV files, water damage, broken card slots, and devices that still contain the only useful evidence or memory.
Broken connectors and ports
Micro-soldering may help when a USB, charging, data, card-slot, battery, or flex connector blocks access to the data path and a normal cable or reader cannot communicate reliably.
Embedded flash and small boards
Some devices store files on internal NAND, eMMC, managed flash, or soldered storage. The safest path may involve board-level diagnosis before chip-off, adapter work, or storage imaging is considered.
Unusual devices
GPS units, inspection cameras, security recorders, industrial handhelds, older digital cameras, proprietary recorders, and small electronics can be worth assessing when the files are unique and there is no backup.
