Why recovery-first matters

Repairing the device and recovering the data are not the same job.

A repair shop may reasonably focus on making the device work again. A data recovery case starts from a different question: what must be preserved, stabilized, copied, or avoided so the original files remain recoverable?

  • Routine repair can replace original boards, erase storage, overwrite clips, or separate parts that are needed for access.

  4. Image or copy safely before repair goals. Once data is reachable, the priority is preserving and copying it rather than continuing unnecessary device repair.
